From iconic safaris in Kruger National Park and private game reserves to the scenic beauty of Cape Town, the Winelands and the Garden Route, the country caters to every type of traveller. Summer runs from November to March, bringing warm weather ideal for beaches and outdoor activities, while winter from May to August is cooler and considered the best time for game viewing due to sparse vegetation. Whale watching along the Western Cape coast is at its peak from July to November, making South Africa a year-round destination with something unique in every season.

The jewel of the country is the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where seasonal floodwaters transform the landscape into a lush wildlife paradise. Winter (May to October) is the prime safari season, with cooler, dry conditions and exceptional game viewing, especially during the Okavango flood season from June to August. Summer (November to March) brings warmer temperatures and dramatic green landscapes, ideal for birdwatching. Botswana is best suited to travellers seeking luxury safaris, pristine wilderness and intimate wildlife encounters.

Zimbabwe

ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe is rich in natural wonders, history and wildlife, making it one of Southern Africa’s most rewarding destinations. It is home to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world, as well as exceptional safari areas such as Hwange National Park and Mana Pools. The dry winter season from May to October is ideal for wildlife viewing and walking safaris, while the falls are at their most powerful between February and May after the summer rains. Zimbabwe offers a perfect blend of adventure, scenery and authentic African experiences.

Zambia

ZAMBIA

Zambia is known as one of Africa’s top destinations for immersive safari experiences, particularly for walking safaris and river-based adventures. The country shares Victoria Falls with Zimbabwe and boasts pristine national parks such as South Luangwa, famous for its abundant wildlife and expert guides. Winter from May to October is the best time to visit, offering dry conditions, excellent game viewing and activities such as canoeing along the Zambezi River. Tanzania

TANZANIA

Tanzania is one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations, best known for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra move across the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing. The country also offers the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and idyllic beaches along the Indian Ocean. Dry seasons from June to October are ideal for safaris and witnessing river crossings, while January to March is perfect for the migration’s calving season. Summer months are warm year-round, with short rains in November and longer rains from March to May. Tanzania combines world-class wildlife, adventure and coastal relaxation.

KENYA

Kenya is a classic safari destination with diverse landscapes ranging from savannahs and lakes to tropical coastline. Kenya experiences two dry seasons, from January to March and June to October, both ideal for wildlife viewing. The country also offers rich cultural experiences, vibrant cities and beautiful Indian Ocean beaches such as Diani Beach, making it perfect for combining safari with relaxation.
