Established in 1995, Cape Tours is a specialist tour operator with 30 years personal experience and knowledge of South Africa. We have developed an intimate knowledge of South Africa from living and working there and we use this knowledge to help our clients design their own individual African experience. Our business has grown primarily from word of mouth, with many repeat customers who have fallen in love with South Africa and what a Cape Tours holiday brings them. Mike & Carmelita
Born and raised in Cape Town, our love for travel and Africa began when we met in 1978 and honeymooned along the Garden Route. Though we moved to the UK in 1986, Africa has always remained close to our hearts. Over the decades, we’ve explored Southern and East Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, celebrating milestones like a Blue Train anniversary, a birthday at Victoria Falls, and adventures across Namibia. Both our children were married in the Cape – a region that continues to hold deep family significance.
In 1995, we founded Cape Tours to share our passion for travel and the places we know best. After 30 years, we still love what we do – crafting unique, tailor-made African journeys built on experience, trust, and strong relationships with our partners across Africa. This often allows us to offer exceptional value and truly personal service.
Among our favourite destinations are South Africa’s West Coast, with its wide beaches, springtime wildflowers, and the Cederberg Mountains, and Namibia, with its striking deserts, dunes, and wildlife. What makes Southern Africa so special is its diversity – breathtaking scenery, vibrant cultures, and warm hospitality, all beneath endless sunny skies.

Being born in Cape Town allows me to offer a true local’s perspective, and with many years of experience in the travel industry, I love showing visitors a side of South Africa that goes beyond the usual tourist spots.
